Can Prayer Eliminate Pain, Fear, Judgment, and Shame?

A talk from Swami Nityananda presented in HD audio and video

Dear Feel Love Now Community,

We just shared this video on YouTube, but wanted you to be able to have it on your Substack video player as well, in case you prefer that.

Having it on Substack makes it easy for you to see any other podcasts, videos, articles, or full meditation services that might be available in the Instant Self-Enlightenment by clicking here.

Have you ever felt like you’re pushing too hard in your spiritual practice, trying to make God respond in a certain way?

In this meditation, Swami Nityananda reminds us that true divine connection flows through surrender. When we let go of the need to control outcomes and allow our non-separate self to pray, love, joy, and the essence of God naturally emerge.

Without the boundaries of fear, pain, or judgment, only peace remains. Embrace this practice of letting go and allow the divine flow to guide your life with ease and grace.

Here’s one of our favorite quotes:

“‘I don’t make God do anything. The Tao or God flows in and through me wherever the open door allows it to flow.’

So, just a couple of things to check in on there. Have I been trying to make God do something? Have I been praying and looking for God to respond in a particular way? That can only come from my separate self.

And so what this is saying is: Melt the separateness and allow the nonseparate self to pray through you. And then what you’ll notice is love, love, love, joy, joy, joy, God, God, God. That alone is. That alone is what will bubble forth from you if you let go of the separateness.

In the absence of separateness, there is no pain, there is no limitation, there’s no fear, there’s no judgment, there’s no shame, there’s no blame, there’s no resentment, there’s no resistance. There is ‘I don’t make God do anything.’”

If you have heard this teaching before, we invite you — as Swami so often invites us — to hear it as if you are hearing it for the first time. Often we receive these teachings right when we need them.

In loving service,
The Karma Yoga Team at AYM
