Dear Feel Love Now Community,
We just shared this video on YouTube, but wanted you to be able to have it on your Substack video player as well, in case you prefer that.
Having it on Substack makes it easy for you to see any other podcasts, videos, articles, or full meditation services that might be available in the Instant Self-Enlightenment by clicking here.
Inspired by the teachings of Swami Shankarananda, Swami Nityananda focuses on the idea that our actions are secondary to how we approach them. Through this profound insight, we learn that becoming aware of our actions rather than identifying as the doer connects us to the deeper source of stillness and light within.
By embracing this awareness, we allow Source energy to guide our lives, effortlessly leading us to enlightenment. Whether your body and mind seem to be in constant motion, true peace comes from recognizing that you are not the doer, but a vessel of awareness.
Here’s one of our favorite quotes:
“And he [Swami Shankarananda] also says this, ‘Whatever you do, it’s secondary to how you do it. I don’t do anything. I become aware of it. The simplest of tasks is the opportunity to experience enlightenment.’
And so for each of us—‘I don’t do anything, I become aware of it’—this is connecting with that pure heart of awareness and then allowing that voice of stillness and light from within us to act through us. So the nonseparate self really does not do anything at all. The body might be doing a lot of labor. The mind, the hands, the heart might be making what looks from the outside like a lot of effort.
If we are in contact with the Source energy and we’re simply allowing the Source energy to express through us, we will be fully aware: I don’t do anything, I become aware of it.”
If you have heard this teaching before, we invite you — as Swami so often invites us — to hear it as if you are hearing it for the first time. Often we receive these teachings right when we need them.
In loving service,
The Karma Yoga Team at AYM

Consider making a financial contribution to Swami’s Bowl
As the presiding teacher, Swami Nityananda selflessly offers her wisdom without taking a salary from Awake Yoga Meditation. Your gift honors her giving and ensures she can continue to share her invaluable teachings. The tradition of meditation communities like Awake Yoga Meditation is to support the presiding teacher’s Dakshina (reimbursement of basic living expenses for housing, transportation, and insurance). All of the other myriad expenses of life are offered from student to teacher through Swami’s Bowl.
