Seeing the Divine in Ordinary Life

A talk from Swami Nityananda presented in HD audio and video

Dear Feel Love Now Community,

We just shared this video on YouTube, but wanted you to be able to have it on your Substack video player as well, in case you prefer that.

Having it on Substack makes it easy for you to see any other podcasts, videos, articles, or full meditation services that might be available in the Instant Self-Enlightenment by clicking here.

In this enlightening video, Swami Nityananda explored how the beauty of the Divine can be discovered in the most unexpected moments of everyday life.

Using a heartwarming story of a Lithuanian composer and his cat, we reflect on how this seemingly simple act of a cat playing the piano transformed into a symphonic masterpiece that touched an audience deeply.

The story reminds us of the teachings of Jesus, who invited us to truly see and hear the wonders of life with an open heart. Learn how to recognize the extraordinary in the ordinary and discover the Divine in everyday moments of humor, play, and spontaneity.

These teachings and stories shared by Swami Nityananda encourage us to listen closely and see deeply, inviting a profound connection with the world around us.

Here’s one of our favorite quotes:

“I think a Lithuanian composer recorded his cat playing the piano. It looks like some other people might have seen this one too. The cat is playing the keyboard of the piano and sometimes leaning its entire head on the keyboard of the piano and sometimes playing with the right paw, sometimes playing with the left, sometimes playing with its face, sometimes producing harmonious sounds, sometimes producing this kind of dissonant, disharmonious sounds.

“And the composer took this cat video and audio and created symphonic accompaniment for it and played it for an audience and the cat got a standing ovation.

“So this is just to tell you the teachings shared through the master teacher known as Jesus—Jesus says those who have ears, let them hear. Those who have eyes, let them see. So that composer was able to hear the dynamic symphony that was emerging out of the ordinary, out of the funny, the playful, the cat playing these keys on the piano and was able to hear the layers of music around that.

“So for each of us, we are invited to listen and to be able to hear the absolutely extraordinary beauty and presence of the Divine right in the midst of ordinary life. Right in the midst of whatever we encounter is the extraordinary presence of the Divine.”

If you have heard this teaching before, we invite you — as Swami so often invites us — to hear it as if you are hearing it for the first time. Often we receive these teachings right when we need them.

In loving service,
